Well nearly; the sun is starting to show it's face this morning and here in the UK we are set for good weather!! And on a Bank Holiday too!! Remarkable:)
Hi everyone and welcome to my newest followers. It is a thrill to see your names appear on the followers list and I am eternally grateful for your company. Let's hope you enjoy the first of my offerings today (oh yes, there will be two).
No apologies for showing you another card. I'm enjoying trying to master the art of composition using a range of media on a 6x6 scale (not always easy as they also have to fit into envelopes and make it through letterboxes!!) Scrapbook layouts are definitely a brilliant source of inspiration. This is an entry for Hels Sheridan's Sunday Stamper challenge - Blue. So glad to hear you are on the mend Hels after a week of being poorly - fish and chips are a very good cure for the lurgy I hear!!
It's very appropriate that this be my entry as it was inspired by Hels herself... many of you will have seen her Melt Pot exploits on the telly recently (even hubby pricked up his ears - is it a gadget thing?) I got some Texture Treads and had a play with this peacock design. The fragment was made with Cosmic Shimmer Midnight Blue UTEE. I then added a dribble of Blending Solution into the embossed areas and added drops of White Mixative/Stream Alcohol Inks. Love the way they blend together and leave un-inked patches too. A quick rub with some Treasure Gold on the raised areas made it pop. Then I used the same Texture Tread as a complimentary stamp (DI Rusty Hinge on top of a DI Tea Dye background) - result!
The remainder of the card was the result of layering loads of media/die cut and punched elements, all of which were altered along the way. Interestingly I also discovered that texture paste can be painted with Alcohol Inks even on top of gilding wax (yes, those birds took a lot of fiddling with:)
There's another card to follow later on today so I hope you can drop by to see it. In the meantime I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to. Take care of yourselves, hugs Jenny x
