Bee-ing True to Yourself

Hello all and welcome back to my little slice of blogland. Since my last post I am pleased to say postie came up trumps, delivering four new DI pads (my collection builds slowly) and importantly some Memory Box dies. The first of these was required to finish my tag for two challenges;

I'm totally in love with this TH honeycomb embossing folder and the obvious thing to do with it is to create real (crafty) golden honeycomb (in my head anyway!) I was also inspired by the other gold medalists at the Olympics (including the two womens rowing pairs, the silver and gold medalists in the women's judo final yesterday, and bronze medalist Alan Campbell, to name but a few) who display an incredible amount of focus and determination to suceed and achieve their personal goals, overcoming all obstacles that are put in their way. The sentiment seemed an appropriate way of celebrating their success.

Did you know that in herald the bee symbolizes diligence and indefatigable effort?! How appropriate, like I planned it! This bee is an Aspects of Design stamp (from The Stamp Man) that was embossed in gold onto black card and was then overstamped in black archival ink to bring out the detail. The honeycomb colours - Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Picket Fence with a liberal dose of gold embossing powder.

And that Memory Box die? a delicate branch on which to mount stamped oriental blossoms (covered in Rock Candy) and SB Rose Creations leaves. Right, I think my 'to do list' could rival that of Hels Sheridan's so it's time to disappear. Quick heads up to my 'crafty mate' Julia who has just been announced as having made it into the Top 5 of the last Stamp Man challenge. If you haven't seen her blog before do yourself a favour and check it out.  Hugs to you all, Buttons x

  10. You know I will have to get that embossing folder don't you? It looks fabulous and what a fabulous sentiment you have used.
    Did you know that world wide there has been a major threat to the bee populations so much so that there are dire predictions not just for them but for every other species as they are the pollinators of so much. So planting more of all those glorious English meadow flowers is not just joyour for us - let's give bees some joy too!
    By the way after Hels gorgeous endeavour with the Oriental Die it is ordered and I am waiting.
    Have a fabulous week and enjoy all the sicesses of your team as indeed we will with the Aussies too. Aussie Aussie Aussie ( not sure why we say it 3 times! Ha)
