Words, words, words at Frilly and Funkie

Hi everyone. My second post of the day (find the first HERE) this time for the current challenge over at Frilly and Funkie, 'Words, words, words'. Sue is our host and for this challenge instead of an image she wants you to let a word take centre stage. A single word can speak volumes, so let them do the talking! This could be on any kind of project you like, a layout, an altered item, a journal page, you choose, but no stamped sentiments allowed!

As you can probably see I came over all 'French' for this one and had an absolute ball creating it. Normally I tend to have an idea in my head of how I want something to look before starting each project and think (sometimes too long!) about what needs to be included.
This was one of those pieces that just took on a life of it's own.

Ages ago I was using alcohol inks and didn't want to waste what was left on the felt pad, so first Gold Mixative and then Stonewashed ink were applied to a spare piece of acetate. It created a beautiful mottled translucent look... and then sat on a pile of scraps.

When Sue picked this challenge theme I wanted to use (and not overly obscure) this gorgeous Prima paper from the Cartographer collection. So after adding some torn and inked strips of coordinating paper and splattering inks, the acetate panel provided the perfect accompaniment.
Of course you can't just glue acetate down without it showing through; by layering over some Frameworks die cut pieces I could hide it easily.

Another scrap, the Specialty paper 'watercoloured' with Cornflower Blue Archival Reinker was perfect for spelling out the word 'Bonjour', but it got a little lost on it's own. By cutting a heart from the same scrap (stencilled with translucent paste) it drew the eye down perfectly.
Other favourite finishing touches include the copper metal filigree disks, the rusted tin die cut heart and the fussy cut stamped flowers with their Perfect Pearls shine and pearl centres.

That's my take on this theme and for even more inspiration you can see what my fellow Funkie team mates have created over at Frilly and Funkie. As usual there are prizes up for grabs so you need to enter to be in with a chance to win.

Thank you so much for joining me for the second time today. I'll be back in a couple of hours with the third post of the day for IndigoBlu - hopefully see you then too!!!
Take care of yourselves, Jenny xxx

ps. I've added links to the products used in this piece - The Funkie Junkie Boutique will be open for business very soon so you'll be able to stock up with those items you have your eye on!!!
