So here I am again with the second tag for entry into The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas challenge sponsored as ever by The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and this one has come out ok. The idea is to take inspiration from Linda Coughlin's version and come up with your own, and it's metal, which I'm into:)
So this is Linda's version...
So this is Linda's version...
and this is mine, picking up on the metal background, the cogs and the single word...
No issue with lighting/photography here, hurrah. Just embossed/inked metal TH stylee and baubles (doesn't that word look wrong!) on a mix of alcohol inked silver mirror card and corrugated card covered with Picket Fence stain and Ranger Rock Candy.
The cardstock, as mentioned previously, is Basic Grey - Jovial.
Guess what, I used those Sizzix diffusers again...
They replace one of your embossing plates and mean you can combined two embossing folders, but here is the Master of Distress himself to explain far better than me HERE.
Another example of this technique on metal tape. Lots more of this to come for those who've been asking about diffusers. Right, time to go for now. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. They are very humbling and gratefully received. Have the best of weekends, hugs Buttons x
Wow! This tag is so much more than "OK"! I really love all the textures and the beads on the paperclip are really effective - I would never have thought of that and just might have to pinch that idea.
ReplyDeleteWow Buttons this is fabulous, I love these BG papers and all the lovely metalwork x
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy lady! This tag is what my Son would call cool - right on so many levels. The diffusers really are something else! Love the Basic Grey papers and the paper clip with the beads is such a great idea too. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteI had a quick look this morning at your amazing tag buttons and told myself -"No really checking it out will be reward for the tedious planned today BUT here I am back again because I really might just reward myself first!"
ReplyDeleteIndulgent crafter that I am!
So now I am looking at the extraordinary textures you have achieved. I adore Metal Tape but I am beginning to limit myself as my stash is getting low and our local hardware - where the assistant shakes his head at my requests is not stocking it now :(
I do think Bauble is not an adequate word for your sensational tag which by the way I just might look at again, very closely when I come to make tags for the Star and the kid. They are brown paper sort of fellows so a magnificent tag would certainly crank the presentation up muchos!
Now as I am still on stolen time I am clicking your here and checking out what Mr. Holtz has to say.
Have a fabulous weekend.
So creative and fabulously made Buttons. The textures from the embossing is out of this world and your tag is a wonderful example of how you put everything together to achieve such an incredible tag. I love it.
ReplyDeletehugs {brenda} xox
...very eye catching Buttons, loVe the contrast, the colours, all beautifully put together...a super make...Melx :)
ReplyDeleteJust terrific. Great background and punky decorations
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Oooh I love this - so up my street! Not seen Lindas challenge as I have been busy sewing but might take a look later if I can - also prefer your changed tag earlier too - isnt it frustrating when you make something that everyone else seems to like but doesnt sit well with you? Happens to me quite a bit as I am a perfectionist too - still at least we know we arent the only ones dont we! and personally I think you can always tell the love, time and care put into a project just by looking at it so I am always sure others can too! Have a great day - I am going to play with some more of new stamps today!! whoo hoo also not seen the diffusers (I am so out of touch!) so off to watch the video too.
ReplyDeleteA stunnings background for this Christmas tag with all the details Buttons.
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend, Alie :-)

ReplyDeleteA while ago, the hugely talented Ana at:
http://anina-papirckalnica.blogspot.co.uk/
nominated me for a blog award called Child's Shoe Blog Award. It's essentially a method of increasing the footfall through your blog and someone recognising the creativity of your work. I've finally done my post and I've put your name down as one of my five nominees. If you pop over to my blog you can read about it.
I'd love you to include yourself as I always enjoy seeing your work.

Gorgeous!!! I love the combinations you did and the metal looks fabulous! Your tag is fabulous...the contrast of the metal and elegant paper ornaments is perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic background and I'd never of put those papers on that background, but they work so well.
ReplyDeletePlease don't tell me any more about these fabulous diffusers or they are going to find their way onto my wish list too!!!

Jaw-dropping! I'm totally blown away by this... technically (diffusers, wow - metallic background, fab) and artistically (every colour, embellishment, layer is perfect!). Buttons' Bauble is brilliant!

Okay, you might be less than 100% in love with this, but I am 200% in love with it so that makes up the difference :) I was totally blown away when saw it. I love that you took the metal and the gears away from my tag and turned it into ornaments and I think using the word BAUBLE is so fresh and original. Great colors too. Awesome take on Tag#2 challenge. Can't wait to see what you make for #3!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
What a gorgeous tag! Love the metal and how you've hung all the pretties... and I think 'bauble' rocks this way!
ReplyDeleteYour tag is so cleverly done Alison! It's gorgeous!
