Gggrrrrrr!!!!! It's been that kind of a week! No time, too many commitments, another migraine (surprise that!) and then my laptop got infected by a virus while I was 'doing the rounds' in Blogland. Hmph. So that's gone in to be mended and I'm sharing the PC with OH & offspring (we need a booking list methinks). Then the battery died on the camera, and finally BT went all slow and wobbly on me!!!!!!!!!! Do you ever get the feeling life is conspiring against you? I started last Saturday with so many good intentions too!
Right, enough being a miserable baggins. On the upside my orders from Frilly & Funkie (part winnings, part B'day pressie) and Crafty-Embelies arrived :¬D Oh happy days! And my intentions last weekend were spurred on by having 2 whole hours to myself :¬0 to watch the video tutorial Ania Dabrowska did for Prima. My word, what she can do with paper and ink is astounding, and if you haven't watched it yet I highly recommend it. Believe it or not I must be the only person on the planet who doesn't have any T!m Holtz tags! (gotta do something about that v. soon) so replicating her tags was beyond me. (Stop waffling and show 'em what you've done woman!!)
And this is? my entry to Hels Sheridan's Sunday Stampers challenge - Dreamer (late, I know but, well you've already heard my tale of woe). It is also going into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge - Layers which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. And as if that weren't enough! it is also a birthday card for my middle son (it's a way off yet but it seems a bit of forward planning is needed at the moment!)
Bless him! When Hels' challenge title came up it immediately put me in mind of him - an absent-minded genius who often lives in a world of his own, has dreams of being an author and loves books/strategy games/moles in equal measure :¬))
The stamps were all from Dimension Fourth sets (they are ones I find myself returning to so often) and the puzzle piece and domino were from Crafty-Embelies (link above).
The papers were K&Co Life's Tapestry (trying desparately to use up the stash) and the buttons came in that two-stone bag that came from my Mum (Happy Birthday tomorrow Mum! you're a star xx)
I made the background paper by spritzing Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain on the craft mat and slushing the card around in it. The three playing cards (oooh yes, I have a batch of blank ones courtesy of one of my eldest's GCSE art projects) got a similar, if somewhat more intense treatment. The feather came free from a duck on our local canal - the irridesence took my fancy and in part inspired the colour choices. The OH, bless him, is now picking up all sorts of random plummage whilst exercising the dog and doesn't get why I'm not esctatic when he presents me with something brown and battered!!!
OK, time to stop going on. Who knows what other catastrophies may befall if I don't get this posted...
Welcome and thank you to all my followers, new and old who leave such wonderful comments. They are treasured, each and every one of them. Apologies in advance if I don't get round to you all this week but my alloted time is up and my precious laptop won't be back until Monday pm.
