'Tis me!!! Still alive and kicking in case you wondered:) Happy New Year to everyone out there. May 2013 be the best yet and may all your wishes come true because they really can, honestly. More of that v. soon...
Welcome to followers old and new including Elizabeth and Libby. What a thrill and a privilege it is that you want to spend some time at my blog. Thank you. Another huge thank you to the two Nicola's, Brenda and Alison for your lovely e-cards which were very much appreciated.
Everything got done for 25/12 - just! and we got a newly replastered kitchen ceiling done in time too (don't ask). It's been a real family time here at 'chez Marples', and as it's not really polite to disappear and craft when you have guests (?!) there's been a distinct lack of productivity until the last couple of days. Santa was uber kind to me this year. Yippee!! All this means some serious experimentation is now in order; I guess my only real resolution this year is to push those creative boundaries as far as possible. And so by way of my encouragement to you all to fly as high as possible this year I give you...
The light disappeared at 3pm today, hence the need for artificial light. It was either that or hold off posting to tomorrow but getting back into the swing of things seemed more important on this occasion. Making cards is also a bit of a priority at the moment. Six birthdays and a new edition to my OH's large family due any time mean it is a busy month for cards. Bet many of you have the same thing. Birthdays seem to be a bit like buses in that way!
Modelling paste is fast becoming a bit of an obsession, but tomorrow will see my venture into the world of self-coloured Ferro. Colouring white paste is tricky with fingers/sponges so a paintbrush has been necessary... and time consuming! It does make applying Treasure Gold a little easier though.
Like the wren? It's an Inkylicious stamp which was covered in Coffee Archival Ink before being pushed into melted gold embossing powder.
To add to the whole travelling/escaping feel of this card I used the same Coffee ink to stamp a map/compass and postcard/letter images to the background paper.
And to get back into the swing of things challenge-wise I am entering this into Hels Sheridan's Sunday Stamper challenge which this week requires the use of writing (plenty in the background here). Hels has a giveaway too this time so it's well worth dropping by.
I'll be back tomorrow for the first in this year's WOYWW and plan to spend this evening catching up with missed posts (expect comments peeps!) Happy New Year to you all, hugs Jenny xxx
