WOYWW 177

Hi out there, welcome to my world. Today it's Wednesday, which means it's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, a chance to take a peek at crafty areas across the globe. Want to find out more and even join in? Head over to Julia's HERE to find out more.
Now, I promised yesterday to show how I've been playing with the coloured card that is normally left to one side. Using an Imbossibilities stencil and various combos of Distress Ink they are easily transformed into card which is totally lush. Why don't you give this a go with your unloved coloured card?

It's like having my own fabric samples book:) and this is going to grow as I use other things on the card. My new brad pot is there at the top and there's the very beginnings of two cards next to my pad (another experiment which may/may not work!)
Right, time to head off to visit my fellow WOYWWers, but with one small request - I would really love it if you could join me tomorrow (Thursday) for something a bit special.
hugs Buttons x

  6. Very cool samplers - I love anything with collections of colour... Despite my discomfort with all things sewing, I used to be found gazing at the rainbow displays of cotton in department stores! Very excited to see what's going on tomorrow... I'll be here. Happy WOYWW!

  10. A hurried visit whilst I have Internet here in Cyprus. Love your pages but need a better peek when I have a bigger screen. I put gesso on my ugly papers and the slap paint on, love doing it but will look at yours when I get home, they look so scummy.

  18. Oooh, just love a tease and will be back tomorrow to find out more. Great idea to put your samples in a book, wish I could get in closer. I have loads of 'ugly' papers and forget about altering them.

Just catching up on a few desks before I walk the dog.

  22. Thanks for passing on this clever idea ..most of us forget all that coloured card sitting in boxes ...this way one can see what effect inks /paints etc have on it at a glance. xx#79

  23. Hiya Buttons

I don't really have that much coloured card but I'm loving the effect that inking yours up is having. I have a book where I put a 'smear' of all my inks, chalk inks etc in with the name on them, and list all my things like CD Roms, Spellbinders and other dies and then my embossing folders - but I like the idea of what you are doing and it will help a lot of people.

    Happy WOYWW

  25. Good afternoon I was directed here by a friend who knows I hate using certain colours of card.
WOW!! what a fantastic idea, I will certainly be giving this a go.
I am going to Hobbycraft in Glasgow on Saturday and have just added Inks to my ever growing list of things I want to get.
I am also off to get a notebook....!!
If I get time I will be back tomorrow
Thanks for sharing a great idea

  33. Sent here by a friend to view your lush notebook. Fab idea to use some coloured card that way. I'm very much a beginner so all tips like this are wonderful. I am a new follower and so will also be back tomorrow to see 'what's next' :0)

  34. That's a great idea, I should adapt it to have samples of paint combinations, except I would probably never remember the colours I used :)

  35. Hi Buttons! Thanks for stopping by my blog this week and leaving such a nice comment....

I agree with you about family comments, though I have to confess that I'm lucky enough to have an adorable man who is very supportive and appreciative all the time - he's turning into a crafter himself (as a school teacher, it's a necessity, no?) so totally "gets" what I do. I lucked out this time round...

I'm off to the rest of your blog as you've requested our presence today...
