Eileen Hull Designs Sizzix Chapter 4 Release and Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome. Thanks for joining us for the Eileen Hull Designs Sizzix Chapter 4 Release Party and Blog Hop. The Chapter 4 Sizzix Release is exciting for so many reasons – there are two never-done-before designs!

One is the Sizzix Scoreboards Plus 'Full Size Journal' Die which is a Bigz Pro size – you will need a machine with at least a 9″ throat to cut this die – like a Big Shot Plus or Pro. Not to worry, if you don’t have that machine, Eileen will have the pre-cut pieces available in her Etsy store for you to work with. The other new technology is a 3-D Embossing Folder! It’s called 'Sweater' and is oh so cozy. Also new this release is a Sizzix Scoreboards 'Notepad' Die with lots of options for materials and uses, and a 'Heart Mandala' Thinlits Die to decorate with!

Join us for the Chapter 4 Release Party, where team members from around the world will share their projects! The Release Party will be on Facebook Live on Friday, October 1st at 12:00 Eastern Time. There is a GIVEAWAY too – leave a comment on each of the designers’ blog posts and you will be entered to win one of the new dies! Another prize will be given to someone who attends and comments in the Release Party Facebook Live; you will it here on Eileen Hull Designs Facebook Page.

For my first project of the month I've made something which I am going to find really useful for future projects/pieces - a paint swatch notepad. The front cover features one of the flowers from one of Eileen's latest stamp set releases - 'Wonderful World of Flowers' -  too!

The flower has been stamped onto some gel plate printed paper and embossed with clear embossing powder before being cut and mounted onto the front.

For me the key to creating something to be proud of is choosing the correct colour palette so rather than spend time working that out at the time it seemed sensible to record a bunch for future reference. I made the spine flexible by splitting the covers away from it and re-assembling them with some Architape® adhesive bookbinding tape, leaving a 1/4 inch gusset between the covers and spine. A handstitched text block containing no less than 68 pages! was added inside.

Here are some of the first of those pages filled with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint swatches following colour schemes designed by Design Seeds (though there will be many more inspired by previous projects, blog posts from other designers on the PaperArtsy blog etc).

Returning to the cover of the notepad it has been covered in linen that has stitched and painted lines running from front to back behind the flower. This makes it really tactile and hardwearing at the same time.

I will be back later in the month to share another larger project using Eileen's new dies. For now thank you for joining me here as part of this Eileen Hull Designs Sizzix Chapter 4 Blog Hop and Release Party.

For those of you in the UK you'll be pleased to hear that Country View Crafts are stocking Eileen's dies and stamps - find them HERE.

Here's the full list of blog hop participants - remember to leave a comment for each designer and you'll be in with a chance to win;
