Hi everyone. I know, five posts in three days, it's ridiculous! and yet all necessary. Thank you for bearing with me and leaving such lovely comments for; Get Some Texture, Saturday Step by Step - Repurposed Packaging, Field Notes, and Flaming June.
You can imagine my delight at discovering I'd been honoured with a Designer Spotlight win by Simon Says Stamp Monday for my Richly Floral Card. Thank you so much to May, Tracy and the team for choosing me to stand alongside Katy and Marie this week.
As their current Monday challenge, 'The Artsy Stamp' sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, draws to a close and another one begins at Country View Challenges, 'Only Men Allowed' sponsored by Country View Crafts, I find myself in the lucky position of having created something that fits beautifully with both themes. How often does that happen!!!
Inspired by Ashli from the Simon Says Monday DT to go routing through my scraps and offcuts box. Believe it or not this card was created almost completely from coordinating bits and pieces I found in there! Then Emma and Dan (from the same amazing DT) came up trumps with their inspirational use of the Brett Weldele designed stamp sets - I reached for The Chemist on this occasion.
Using paint to act as a resist in combination with a stamp is a favourite technique, and here I used the cogs stamp with white paint before applying a blend of Distress Inks. Finally I added white embossing paste through a stencil and brayered Distress Stains over it.
The Chemist himself was stamped on Specialty Paper, coloured 'Wendy Vecchi style' with Potting Soil Archival Reinker and Distress Markers. The die cut frame had Tarnished Brass Distress Stain applied to the edges, more complimentary stamping and some gorgeous Remnant Rub-ons.
The embossed/die cut cogs and gears were coloured with Alcohol Inks and the Distress Paint tag had some Chit Chat stickers added to it. A scattering of watch parts completed the technical look to a card for a special family member.
Right, that's it for now. Nothing planned for a couple of days here blog-wise so I can catch up with visits you you all. There's so much going on out there to inspire and recharge my rather limp creative batteries.
Take care and have a great week everyone. Jenny xxx
He's brilliant - I adore the gleam of coppery gold from the cogs and gears, and the added watch parts are so cool! Glorious colour contrasts, textures and layering - fabulous! Thanks so much for playing along at Country View Challenges - how serendipitous!!

Stunning card Jenny, I love the combination of the copper and the gren/greys. I also like the white embossed background which adds interest whilst keeping low key allowing your eye to focus on the chemist and front layers. As usual so well thought out. Mo x
