Colour Me with IndigoBlu...

Hi everyone and welcome! We've been getting all over excited behind the scenes at IndigoBlu with so many fabulous brand new stamp sets and mixed media paper collections ready to tempt you. If you've been keeping a close eye on the IndigoBlu blog and our Pinterest boards over the past month or so you'll already have spotted some of that yumminess, and there's plenty more to come!

Having worked hard over the festive season to create 'serving suggestions' to inspire you it's time to show you a few; today I'm going 'simple' - as close as I get to CAS - with some incredibly beautiful floral stamp designs for stampers of any level of experience...

This one is called Colour Me Anenome, a square design that focuses on the centre of this beautiful bloom (as do all the rest of the Colour Me designs) with distinct lines, ideal for colouring in using any of your favourite mediums. The eagle-eyed will also have spotted me die cutting this with a large floral die to take advantage of the stamens in the centre (more of that coming this Monday... )

This one is Colour Me Daisy and it was a breeze to achieve this look with these stamps; stamp and emboss once onto black card using white embossing powder, then stamp another using permanent black ink onto white card and colour in (I used watercolour pencils). Die cut circles (or other) from the coloured version and adhere to the top of the embossed layer. Mat and layer several times before adding to a card blank and hey presto - you've got one stylish (yet post friendly) card!

The next design is called Colour Me Iris and I think it has such an elegant look. By replicating the appearance of standard white irises it can work for weddings and those tricky sympathy cards. However, add other more dramatic iris colours (various shades of blue, purple and yellow) and you've got something ideal for birthdays, get well wishes and so much more.

The last in this series is Colour Me Dahlia and it's another favourite. I love the tight central section of the flower spreading to those outer petals, perfect for decoupaging/layering for fabulous dimension.

So which is your favourite? How would you use them? What would be your favourite method for colouring them in? If (like me) you love these designs and want to get your hands on them make sure you start pestering your favourite retailers or keep an eye on the IndigoBlu website for their release.

I'll be back tomorrow to share another project on the IndigoBlu website. Until then take care of yourselves, Jenny xxx

  6. I am not sure I can choose a favourite... but if pressed I would have to go for the first one (only because of the red!). These stamps are incredible, such a clever design and I just love the drama that the pops of colour create. I think watercolour would be my choice for colouring, although Tim's new crayons would be wonderful too, I think! Beautiful work Jenny! Anne xx
