A brayer, a stencil and some alcohol inks...

Hi everyone. Thank you for your positive reaction to the cards I've made using some of the techniques from the Creative Chemistry 102 course. Here's one that was inspired by the colour scheme employed by the super talented Kaz Hall on a sample she created for the course.

I can't share the techniques, just their names, as you really need to take the course to understand them properly. Mind you, the background was made using Brayered Stains which previously featured one of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013.

One of the products I was most thrilled to 'get to grips' with was alcohol inks, and I pushed it as far as possible with this background. I started with some Monoprinting and then used my TH Cargo stencil to create Faded Layers. Finally I stamped through the same stencil with a stamp from the TH Laboratorie set.

With such a 'grungy' look I could keep it simple with the stamping.

Mounting the main image and the sentiment helped to 'frame' them properly. Adding texture/interest came from applying black and white paint lines using the side of a ruler, applying black texture paste through my Wendy Vecchi 'Yikes Stripes' stencil, using Faux Patina staples and number rub ons.

And a final detail - a Faux Patina chipboard die cut over a clock rub on with and alcohol ink altered game spinner and some cracked Glossy Accents (amazing what you can find between the ice-cream and the peas in the freezer!)

That's it for now. Lots more to test, tons more to learn. Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by - I really appreciate it. Take care of yourselves, Jenny xxx

  18. Good evening Jenny, thank you for your comments.
My sister "Hazel's baskets of Joy" and two friends fly down Thursday mid afternoon, will do the show all day Friday, fly back home Saturday. We are staying at the Airport Travel Lodge and intend hanging around there on the Friday evening catching up with few people who have contacted us. Most we don't know other than through our Blogs so it will be nice to meet them.
