Hi everyone and a huge welcome to my newest followers. It's been amazing to see that number continue to grow past yet another milestone, and it always feels such a privilege to know there are so many people choosing to take an interest in my work.
Just a quick one from me today. I wanted to share a birthday card created for the very lovely Rita because it used a beautiful image from the Nicecrane Designs Vintage Spring Time Pack. Now her birthday has taken place I figured it was OK to share it with you in more detail.
I love it for the images and the fact that you can use the coloured or black and white images depending on the time you have available, your confidence with colouring, and the look you want to achieve.
I choose to use the black and white version, resized and printed on watercolour paper, and then coloured it with water/Distress Inks and Stains and a paintbrush. The beauty of this image is that you can recolour it to be several species of bird - in this case a finch. Distress Stains are great for creating a background 'wash' for your image, and fine detail can be added using Distress Markers. Isn't it great that images like this can turn you into an artist! There are plenty more black and white digital images available in sets at Nicecrane Designs too for a very reasonable price, so it's well worth a visit.
Then it was a case of layering up various coordinating CS, including a preprinted one and others created by moi. Die cuts, a doily, lace and various flowers completed the look and helped to balance the design.
As promised, that's it - short and sweet. Lots of creating going on here in between lots of other commitments, the results of which you will see over the coming weeks. Thank you again for stopping by and take care of yourselves, hugs Jenny xxx
