WOYWW 168

So I actually feel nervous for some reason!? Having had the odd nudge (Morti) to join the gang today is the day! Welcome to Julia's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (go HERE to find out what I'm on about). Feel like the new girl at school, desparate not to get it wrong :o So welcome to my world... now I think the point is to keep it short and sweet so the guided tour is going to be given over a number of weeks. There's my notice board, Son 1's artwork, an embarrasingly large box of paper stash... oh, the list is endless. Where are we? Well this is an extension which used to be called the 'playroom' (TV/Wii/Playstation - kids stuff, you get the idea). Now it is known as the 'craftroom'!!! A girl has to have her own space (for those of you who don't know me I have a lovely hubby and 3 sons, so (apart from the dog) I am somewhat outnumbered - you could say this is my garden shed!! On my workdesk today you will find the beginnings of a whitewash tag. The first effort failed but will receive a makeover. It's currently lying on top of the dog's cage - well she doesn't use it now so it makes an ideal drying rack! OK, short and sweet woman. Time to fly. Got to link this and visit you all now. Hmmm, may be gone for some time methinks.
Hugs, Buttons x

  2. Welcome - no need for nerves - we are all mad crafty friends here !! Great to see your desk - very neat !!
Girl space is very important in your male household ! I only have DH but as he is Mr Superneat & we share a study I find I am constantly struggling to meet his expectations of neatness !! Why is my tidy so far from his tidy !! Anyway, looking forward to seeing your projects over the coming weeks !! Ali #54

  5. I know the "outnumbered" feeling - there seemed to be a run of boys born into my family- I have two sons, lots of nephews, and until we got Craft Supervisor Mysti we had a long succession of male pets!
Welcome to WOYWW, it's fascinating to have a nosey at everyone's workspace and I know you'll soon feel at home.

  8. Welcome to WOYWW - I'm a relative newbie too... but it is completely addictive! I've started today by visiting all the number 1s, as I'm at 101 (though it kept changing last week!), so it's great to WOYWW-meet you! LOVE your blog-header by the way...

  9. Welcome Buttons, I think we all experienced that new girl/boy feeling when we first dared to join in with WOYWW - I know I did. Respect for taking over the kid's playroom for crafting - and for finding a use for the dog cage too - I'm into improvising where necessary too :) Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #105

  11. Woohooo! *does a happy dance*

Welcome to WOYWW, Buttons! Good to have you along. No need to feel nervous, this is one big happy family and so many of the WOYWWers have commented on how helpful the support network has been at times of need, too.

Feel free to dip in and out as you please - there's no obligation to join in every week, though some of us feel like a part of us is missing on the weeks we don't join in! There's also no obligation to visit every desk - it's polite to try and visit those who have been to you (though don't start the yo-yo thing! LOL) - but very few of us have the time to get round the 120+ desks it is every week!

I'm sure there's a few WOYWWers near you, so they'll eventually get round to you and make themselves known. You'll also hear us talking about a "crop" in October, which I refer to as WOYWW-fest as I think that it's not just for scrappers... newbies are always welcome!

Goshm, I've rambled a bit haven't I? For domino tutorials, there's a few out there on the web and there are a couple of ladies who are far better at it than me! One of them is the Sharpie Queen and she's one of the Third Coast Coterie - go check her blog out!

    Thanks for stopping by..........

  24. Welcome! be warned, this is very addictive. Your desk looks really great and any surface is a great surface for things to dry, my motto is, if its flat and it stands still, use it!
    Happy very belated WOYWW!
